We have some unfortunate news to report to you all this afternoon (but also some good news)... Chris Sabat just let us know today that he will unfortunately not be able to appear at Shuto Con this year due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts at his work (FUNimation) . He didn't want to have to cancel, but he is working on something special that will have to take him away from his convention appearance on our weekend. However, we do have a wonderful announcement to follow up with this, Josh Grelle has agreed to come to our convention in his absence! We are super excited to have him, and thank him so much for agreeing to come to our convention on such short notice!

He is very disappointed that he had to cancel, but family matters have made it unavoidable (and we agree that family should come first). However he hopes to be able to come back another year, in which we absolutely will once he is ready to return! We wish R Bruce Elliott all the best, and we apologize to you all, our attendees, for I know many of you were looking forward to meeting him.
January 12th, 2016 - Due to popular demand, we have now added Single Day (1-Day) Badges to our Registration system, but they will only be available for one month, and only 200 will be available of each badge type online (more will be available at door). If you are coming in from out of state, we would like to encourage you to purchase your badges online as soon as you can to guarantee your attendance to our convention, as there is always the possibility that we may sell out of badges at the door!

April 11th, 2014 - Our official paid attendance for 2014 was 5,445 (this is not including staff, guests, bands, or general spectators at the Lansing Center)! We didn't hit our paid attendance cap like we had hoped this year, however we aren't too far off, and we have big plans for 2015! We will see you all March 18th-20th, 2016! March 30th, 2014 - Due to our 7k attendance cap, the amount of at-door badges will be the following: 3.3k 3-day at-door, and 1k single day at door (1k Fri, 1k Sat, and 1k Sun). We do anticipate that badges will sell out during the weekend, so we highly encourage everyone to arrive early on the day you would like your badges to ensure you can get one. Registration opens each day at 9AM and is located in Hall B (Lansing Center). Once the cap is reached, badge sales will be closed. December 15th, 2012 - On Dec 12th we had and appointment to go to the Sparrow Children's Center and pass out (50) gifts to the children and teens recovering there. It was all a great success, and we brought many smiles to all of their faces! Extra presents that were not immediately distributed will be given out to any child/teen that comes into the hospital from now until the the of the Holiday season! Thank you to everyone who help us raise money for our fundraiser, it went to a great cause!
On another note, VIP Badges are now SOLD OUT.
December 4th, 2012 - Our fundraiser is now over, and we were able to raise $800 for the gift packs! Thanks to everyone who donated and/or helped spread the word! Art supplies will be purchased this week (first week of December) and will be delivered during the second week of December!

July 21st, 2012 - I am pleased to announce our official reunion for 2013! The Anime series we are doing a reunion on is... Dragon Ball (original, Z, Kai, and GT)! The first guests from the series we have the honor of announcing are Sonny Strait and Colleen Clinkenbeard! Sonny voices the ever enduring Krillin (as well as other roles) and Colleen voices Gohan and Android 18. We have been in talks with other VAs from the series, and if all goes well we hope to announce them over the course of the year!

March 23rd, 2012- Our total attendance of both pre-registration and at-door badges is 2475 attendees! This number includes ALL badge types, including children's badges, over the entire weekend. Regarding fundraising for the Lansing Food Bank, Brian Caswell raised $370 during his Date Auction panel, and we will be matching that number totalling $740 raised! We also gathered 153 pounds of food over the weekend! Great job everyone!

March 5th, 2012 - Shuto Con is only a few days away, wooo! We sold over 1000 pre-registration badges this year, and winners have been drawn for the 1000 Pre-Reg Free Shuto Con T-Shirt Giveaway. Also, I wanted to remind everyone that our charity this year is the Lansing Food Bank, and we will have a drop site for canned/non-parishable goods near the Registration Room at the Radisson. I humbly ask that everyone coming pack at least one item to bring for the Lansing Food Bank so we can help feed the hungry of Lansing.

December 1st, 2011 - Our 2012 Charity this year will be the Greater Lansing Food Bank http://www.greaterlansingfoodbank.org . At our convention near the registration line we will have 3-4 bins available for you to place your non-perishable goods or personal care items to donate to the GLFB. We will also be collecting cash donations at the registration line. If everyone one of our attendees even donated just one package of Instant Ramen or Yakisoba Bowl, we could potentially offer one meal for over 1000 people! Please consider donating to the LFB, as hunger is something no family should have to go through!

August 14th, 2011 - I am SUPER-DUPER-UPER-SHMUPER excited about our newest Guest, Greg Ayres!!!!!!!!!!! Not only will he be there to talk about all the amazing Voice Acting work he has done, but he will also be DJing at our dance/rave! Every time I have seen Greg do his DJ set at a convention, I always have a blast, and I KNOW you all will to!
July 19th, 2011 - I am excited to announce our newest Musical Guest, Arc Impulse! They will be performing at both our Masquerade Ball (as a Classical/Waltz Ensemble) and on Saturday Night with local Lansing band Year 200X! Saturday night will be a rockin' classic gaming music night, so break out those VG cosplays and come dance your (multiple) hearts out!
July 11th, 2011 - Details for our T-Shirt Design and Program Booklet Cover/Badge Art Contests are now up on our contests page! The contest runs from July 11th to Nov. 11th, 2011.
Also, the Second Annual Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk is officially a go with a Sept 24th, 2011 date! We are sponsoring them and helping them with their initial costs of running the event this year. We hope that all our friends and fans will consider attending this amazing event, and will donate to the Lansing Food Bank during the walk!
June 19th, 2011 - The "ANIME IN CHALK" SUMMER CONTEST begins today where you can submit your best chalk drawing for a chance to get into Shuto Con for free! Our 1st place winner will be awarded a VIP Membership Badge, and our second place winner will be awarded a regular Membership Badge!! May 29th, 2011 - We are happy to announce our newest Voice Actress guest, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn! Mary portrayed “Major Motoko Kusanagi” in Ghost In The Shell Innocence, Solid State Society and Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex for which she won the American Anime Award for Best Actress. May 12th, 2011 - I am very pleased to announce our first round of Guests for Shuto Con 2012. First up we have Mr. Italy himself, TODD HABERKORN! Next on our list is the multi-talented Voice Actor and Artist, Doug Smith! Year 200X will be doing an encore performance at our Saturday night concert, and Concept Galaxy/lolfilmworks ,a Cosplay Troupe from Florida, will be providing some villainous entertainment! Lastly, The Enthusiasts will be our official photographers, and will be taking free photos of our cosplaying attendees all weekend! Information on all our guests can be seen on the Guests page. VIP tickets are now on sale!
May 1st, 2011 - Information regarding Artist Alley and Dealers Alley is now up! Applications will begin to be accepted on May 24th, 2011.

March 29th, 2011 - We have our “official” numbers all tallied up (and when I say official, I mean an approximate estimate because there were more people just walking around the hall too). We had 1346 paid attendees inlcuding Vendors and Artists at Shuto Con this year!!! I am astounded by these numbers, and I hope next year we can double this number! Don't keep Shuto Con a secret, tell everyone you know!
We also have our donation numbers tallied as well. We raised $2,250 for the American Red Cross, in which we added $1,000 of our own door money to match what we raised from attendees/panelists, and we collected 189 pounds of food/received $27.00 to give to the Lansing Food Bank! THANK you to everyone who helped these charities with us!
March 28th, 2011 - OMG what an amazing weekend it was! We are still going over the official numbers, which we will have shortly, and we will be discussing/announcing our 2012 con shortly. Thank you to everyone came out, thanks to all our Artists and Dealers, thanks to my staff, and I can't WAIT to see everyone next year! If you have pics and/or video, please fan us on Facebook so we can share them with others!
March 22nd, 2011 - Our hotel is now SOLD OUT, but there are other area options if you still need a place to stay. Only a few more days, can't wait to see everyone there! PLEASE don't forget that we are still seeking volunteers AND we are requesting that all attendees donate to our two wonderful charities!
March 13th, 2011 - Only two more weeks until Shuto Con starts! Pre-registrations have ended, but you will still be able to purchase a membership badge at the door. We still have a few more drawings for our 30 Days of Shuto Con promo as well, so stay tuned to our Facebook page!
February 21st, 2011 - 30 Days of Shuto Con Promo - Starting Feb 24th we will be randomly selecting an existing pre-registered badge member (2-Day badge holders only) to get a FREE VIP badge upgrade! We will be randomly selecting one badge every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday up until the convention (that's 13 chances to win!). Remember, on the 11th badge sales end online, so be sure to pre-register now to save money AND get a chance to get an upgrade to your badge! Winners will be notified via email. Good luck!
February 18th, 2011- Our first room block has already sold out, but do not worry, we just opened up a second smaller block today to top off our hotel! Be sure to book ASAP to make sure you can get a room at the Radisson!
Also, Full Throttle Motorsports (off Lansing Rd and I-96) will serve as a collection site for non-perishable foods to be donated pre-con to the Lansing Food Bank! Local artists are encouraged to come by with art supplies and draw on the food collection box! After the con we will present the box, along with whatever we collect at the con, to the LFB, so please donate today!

January 17th, 2011 - I would like to congratulate the winner of our Program Booklet/Badge Art contest, Mariama Alizor! Her beautiful artwork will be featured on all our Program Booklets in full color, and attendees will have the option to choose one of two designs when they pick up their badges! Lastly, due to popular demand, we have decided that we are definitely going to have a Cosplay Contest on Saturday in our Main Events room! We are still hammering out the details, but we will either do a stage walk on to display your costume, or we will allow cosplayers to do a small skit. We are also looking for Judges to do the show. November 19th, 2010 - I would like welcome Helena Stenberg to Shuto Con, she will be doing our Lolita Fashion Show! She has lots of WONDERFUL outfits that she has made that her models will be showing off, and will also be in our Artist Alley selling her handmade goods! If you are interested in the EGL or Lolita scene, I would definitely check this event out... perhaps you can get some good ideas and tips for your next dress!
November 18th, 2010 - We would like to welcome Jeremy Franklin to Shuto Con, who will be running our Battle Arena! Our battle arena will be stocked with a nice selection of foam weaponry for you to duel with, and we highly encourage all our Interactive Cosplayers to participate in random battles against other cosplayers. Just be aware though, all battles MUST take place in our Battle Arena, NO EXCEPTIONS!
November 4th, 2010 - Our VIP badge sales end on November 14th, so be sure to get yours before they run out! Also, we now have our official convention shirts for sale!
